I really love the idea of being able to make my own household cleaners using
natural household ingredients. Here are a few ideas for cleaners using White
Vinegar and good old Citrus Peels. You can experiment with any type of Citrus
Peel that you like. I will definitely be trying the Orange Peel one as we always
have Oranges on hand (we have about a dozen trees lining our driveway)

Another great household cleaner that is really good for removing stains and
odours from carpets and hard surfaces is Baking Soda. But, I wouldn't recommend
adding it to a Vinegar cleaning Solution!
Here are two different variations I found to preparing your own Citrus Peel Cleaners. One involves boiling the vinegar first. I am going to try both methods to see what
differences the boiling makes to the effectiveness of the cleaner.

To make your own Orange Vinegar Household Cleaner you will need:
-1 500ml Preserving Jar
-2 large oranges, peels only (eat the insides!)
-2-3 cups White vinegar to cover

Curl the peel around the inside of the jar. Pour in White Vinegar until covered. Close lid tightly and store in a cupboard/pantry for two weeks. The liquid should now be concentrated enough that you can transfer 1 1/2 cups of liquid to a spray bottle and fill the rest with water. You may want to strain it first though!

This next method involves boiling the vinegar first. The website itself includes some very helpful photo instructions to follow:
-Boil 2-3 cups of white vinegar and pour over orange peels packed into a quart sized canning jar.
-Let sit for several weeks OR to speed up the extraction process, water bath can the jar for 20 mins, just as you would pickles.
-Strain the infused vinegar well using a mesh strainer. Pour approximately 1 1/2 cups of the vinegar into an empty, clean spray bottle.
-Add water to fill the bottle.
-Use cleaner just as you would use any all purpose surface cleaner. Safe, effective and CHEAP!

Edit: It is advised not to use Vinegar cleaning solutions on Marble surfaces.
